We use carefully selected white pine logs :

• Sound wood without severe spiral
• The most consistent diameter possible
• Diameter ranging from 12 to 20 inches, based on your specifications

Logs are hand-peeled on our building site to preserve natural wood beauty.

Logs are scribed to fit precisely each one on top of the other (transferring the shape of one log surface onto another)

A lateral groove in the centre of the log allows for the adding of insulation at final house re-assembly. This insulation is used as a soft and waterproof cushion. Neither nails, mortar, nor extra insulation is necessary.

The Scandinavian technique provides settling space above the windows and doors necessary to compensate for wood shrinkage. While drying, the weight of the house seals all joints tightly.
